Our topic today will be TECT Systems by MARKHAM.

Welcome everybody to today's webinar, we're going to be going through MARKHAM’s TECT Systems and the end-to-end ways that MARKHAM can help with your concrete construction design. 

So moving into it, the presentation is largely for those of you who aren't already familiar with the AQURON or are familiar with the AQURON products, which is our flagship range. If you're not already familiar with our systems, or the products themselves, I'd be more than happy to introduce you to those after the session. So basically, what we're going to be doing is going over our hydrogel systems and their wide range on an array of uses that have already been used in the concrete industry for decades now, many of the architects out in the field and construction design professionals have become familiar with specifying these particular AQURON products. 

Now, what I want to stress in this webinar is that the AQURON range is still with us and these high-quality products aren't going anywhere. What we've done is we've just changed the way that we're specifying the product into the market. Okay, so that's sort of the main important factors that I'm going to be covering today. So many design professionals are coming to us asking, where is AQURON, particularly as we've been transitioning on our specification platform, such as Archify. So, what's important to us is that we can clarify a new approach and we can wrap it up into the technical systems that are going to help you in your day-to-day specifications. 

For so many years, we've been combining the AQURON products and related components into systems, our three-part waterproofing system, which involves specifying three separate products. Now that was causing a little bit of confusion and sometimes the products or individual products within that spec were being swapped out for something different by the builder. Now, the worst-case scenario there is that it not only be swapped out but completely removed. So intent is to keep all products necessary under the system banner and ensure that none of them get swapped out basically when we get performance at the back end. 

So, what we've gone and done is introduced the naming conventions of the system, The ‘TECT’ Range. Now, what we've done is we've taken that from the word from Tect. So, for example, our three-part waterproofing system is now available as BASE TECT, basement, waterproofing and other below sub-structures.

We've also come up with another system called TOP TECT this relates to rooftop decks and the likes of sort of exposed concrete outs on a project that we know we need waterproofing on. So, what this means is that specifying a single system that can be mentioned in the relevant parts of a specification document and kept as a cohesive whole.

AQURON is now part of the TECT Systems as the product is largely covered, you know, as of the technical system. Now most of our technical systems are applied by our applicators, who are employed by MARKHAM. We don't subcontract our system work out to anybody else, it's all done and kept in-house. Now, the reason we do this is because they do carry long-term performance warranties with those, and we want to make sure that they're installed correctly on a project. 

Then moving into these technical systems now, the first technical system that we will be covering is our SLAB-TECT system. Now this SLAB-TECT system is ideal for exposed floor slabs where the need to reduce traffic or steam, is a high failure on your client. And they work well in warehouses, retail outlets and data centres for example. Now what you're getting from this particular system is permanent protection of exposed concrete slabs, a holistic two-part system for curing, sealing, excellent finish, and long-term durability. Now, you will notice in multiple technical systems that I'm going to go through that long-term durability is a continuation, which is really at the forefront of what MARKHAM does. And it's all about adding life to concrete. The other options within the system are scrub and finish options, we're just giving them for handover purposes so that when the client leases it out to a particular lease, the floor is at an aesthetically pleasing finish and fits in with what they want to do within that location. That comes with our end-to-end approach and performance-based warranties supplied and installed by a MARKHAM employee. 

Moving into our next slide, which is our INFRA-TECT system. Now it's intended for all exposed concrete on a project that benefits from the system integration in many ways. Now, what we're looking at here is the permanent protection of exposed concrete, car parking floors, walls in an exposed application, pillars, feet and concrete ceilings etc. So, it's a comprehensive approach to curing and dealing with an excellent finish and again, that long-term durability following our end-to-end approach and performance-based warranties. 

Moving into FLOOR-TECT, so system, the Floor-Tect system. This is a system that's specifically developed to comply with AS 1884:2021 and it really builds on our 25-year experience in the concrete floor moisture control sector. Now this is a holistic approach to concrete moisture control under resilient flooring. We have a hygiene variant within the system that is available and what we do and what my job is to do for Markham as their Specifications and Design Manager is to ensure that we're putting the right products in the right areas under the right system. So, in a specification from MARKHAM, we may have a multitude of technical systems. The reason that is that they're each one of them is performing for different characteristics that are required on your project. Now the FLOOR-TECT system actually complies with ASTM E96 and as well as I mentioned the AS 1884:2021 flooring standards. Now you've got your curing and moisture control all-in-one system done at that curing stage in the project. So, what it's really doing is coupling all those characteristics and providing a slab that is ready for a flooring installation person to do their due diligence on the slab, key it in, and then they can lay their flooring glues with no compatibility issues, ensuring that moisture isn't going to de-laminate those floors into the future. What it's really looking to do is reduce costs and inconvenience later on that project. 

Moving into our next slide, we've got our BASE-TECT system. Now this is a full basement waterproofing system and it's our oldest multi-part system. So, what we've done here is we've coupled our three products together with a combination of admixtures, spray-applied products, and swellable gaskets in all construction joints. Now what we've done here is we've got a focus on enhanced curing and crack control and especially compatibility. Now this system is applied as a package to a builder or contractor and it does fall under our supply-only methodology so MARKHAM will be there, right the way throughout technically to ensure that the system is going to perform to the products, the project's requirements and needs. However, what we've done is we've made it into a supply only which gives the flexibility to the builder to choose the contractor who's going to install it onsite for them. 

Moving into one of our last slides, we've got our TOP-TECT system. Now TOP-TECT system is basically a roof deck waterproofing variant of our basement waterproofing approach. Now it's a non-wearing system, it reduces the maintenance overall and it's an advanced alternative to the whole membrane and other methods that may be used, especially in high-traffic areas where rooftop car parking may be utilised. This is a product that, as I said, doesn't wear down and it doesn't need to be maintained. Once it's installed, it's permanent and it doesn't go anywhere, and it can't wear down. So, we're actually getting a lot of traction with this particular system of late and it's really good to see the market sort of adapting to those changes and different ways of doing things. Now, before I go into the next slide, all the TECT systems that I've mentioned, they can actually be found on the Archify platform. I'd be more than happy to assist you guys project specifically, or with any other information that you may have, after this presentation and webinar.

So, onto our last slide, which I just want to touch on quite quickly. What MARKHAM has done is we've kept the AQURON products as our flagship products in our technical systems and what we've done and seen in the market is there is a need for supply only. So, what we've launched is our CONQUER SUPPLY, and it's just another way that we can help you with our end-to-end approach. Now if you're looking to specify a single product, particularly you know, where a subcontractor may want to apply it themselves, or where the treatable area is comparatively small, I would suggest turning to our CONQUER range. It is the same quality, the same safety and the same technologies in the supply-only methodology.
