Auckland Climate Festival begins 12 October
Rangatahi, local government and businesses from across sectors like Warren and Mahoney, Tonkin and Taylor, Deloitte and Toitū are all taking part in this festival – which will feature both online events and in-person events if COVID levels allow. Individuals and businesses can even register their own events to engage patrons in discussions on everything from creating a more sustainable business to lowering your carbon footprint through local kai.
Festival founder, Michelle Kennedy, says, “I’m in awe of the quality of what’s planned for Auckland Climate Festival, and the creativity of our event partners in embracing COVID-safe formats. Panel discussions, events and even exhibitions have been redesigned to be virtual if necessary, which means we can run the festival on the planned dates and broaden our reach to international audiences.”
A few highlights for professionals in the built environment include:
Build to rent, sustainable, low carbon communities
From the New Zealand Green Building Council in conjunction with the Urban Design Forum, this online event will “discuss how these large residential, high-density developments can be designed to address the housing shortage while delivering sustainable, healthy communities”.
