The new Studio marks a new chapter in the future of workplace design, both for their clients and their people. Designed with flexibility, wellbeing and sustainability in mind, the end result is a clever combination of ergonomic workstations, dynamic meeting spaces and informal social hubs to cater for work and collaboration, all housed within a relaxed, free-flowing space overlooking the iconic Hong Kong Harbour.

The day’s programme kicked off with a message from Tom Cartledge, CEO of Handley House, who congratulated Benoy on its 75th anniversary, 20 years in Asia, and the opening of its new Hong Kong Studio which marks a new chapter in their business and in the future of workplace design.

The festivities included a traditional Bai Sun Ceremony, a centuries-old tradition businesses observe to attract luck and prosperity. Joss sticks are burned, offerings of roast suckling pigs and auspicious food are laid out and prayers are offered for success for the new venture.

This was followed by the ribbon cutting by Terence Seah, Head of Hong Kong, Singapore and Shenzhen, Gregory Kovacs, Design Director, and Teri Tsang, Director and HK Studio Lead.

Then there was an Eye Dotting Ceremony followed by a festive Lion Dance around the Studio which is believed to bring good fortune to the workplace. The dance consists of the two people dressed in an elaborate lion costume prancing about to the beat of drums, gongs, and cymbals showing off their dexterity and acrobatic skill as they mimic movements of a lion. The two lions toured the office, blessing the space with the joyful spectacle.
