A bedroom should be made as comfortable as possible so that we can have a more restful sleep. One major element that needs to be considered to achieve maximum comfort is choosing the right bedding set, namely bed sheets and bed cover or duvet.
The first things to consider before purchasing a bedding set are the material, size and design. It is important to know that bedding sets are available in a wide range of selections and prices. With that in mind, here are several tips that you can follow. Let’s check them out!
Choose soft material

The quality of the material is the top priority when it comes to choosing a comfortable bedding set. Choose one that is made of soft and breathable material. It is advisable to check and feel the material in person before you make a purchase. However, if you have to buy it online, you can pick a bedding set made of soft material like Korean cotton, Japanese cotton and silk.
Pay extra attention to the colour

Be aware that a bedding set in bold colours needs extra attention. If it is made of low-quality material, the bed sheet and duvet’s colour may transfer, bleed and fade when being washed. The bleeding dye won’t only transfer and stain other clothes but will also spoil the vibrant colour of the bedding set itself. With more washing, the colour will gradually fade and may even ruin the aesthetics of your bedroom.
Fit the size

Make sure that you choose a bedding set that suits the size of your bed. Beds come in six sizes: single (100 x 200 cm), super single (120 x 200 cm), double (140 x 200 cm), queen (160 x 200 cm), king (180 x 200 cm), and super king (200 x 200 cm). Choosing the wrong size either too big or too small will make you feel uncomfortable lying on your bed.
The choice of colour and pattern

Choosing the colour of the bedding set will largely depend on the user’s preference and the desired ambience or design of the bedroom. For example, for a kid’s bedroom, let your child get involved in choosing the pattern and colour. Meanwhile for the master room’s bedding set, the choice is all yours. If there are a lot of decorative elements in your bedroom, balance them out with a plain bed sheet or a minimalist bedding set with minimal patterns.
A complete bedding set

The last tip is to always check whether the bedding set comes in a complete set. Make sure that it includes the right number of pillowcases and bolster cases that you need. For bolster cases, you should check whether they come with drawstrings to tighten the cases. Don’t forget to also check the elastic band at each side of the bed sheet and make sure they are sewn properly and not loose. The same thing goes for the bed cover/duvet.
