The Australian Institute of Architects
has awarded bureau^proberts its highest honour for
multiple housing in Queensland residential architecture. In a recent ceremony
to celebrate the Queensland Architecture Awards, Walan — a 16-storey
residential development located in Kangaroo Point — took out the coveted
award.
Two additional awards solidify the practice’s position as
among the state’s best prime residential architects. Albert Villa, a
heritage-listed worker’s cottage in Petrie Terrace, was awarded in the category
of residential architecture, housing alterations and additions. Meanwhile, the
Burleigh-based NORTH Residences, was among the projects to receive a
commendation for multiple housing, residential architecture.
Our Managing and Creative Director, Liam Proberts,
describes the accolades as affirming. “Myself and my team are inspired to see
our work acknowledged in this way — it’s very pleasing to know our
projects go beyond fulfilling a brief but help to shape the future of prime
residential architecture,” Liam says. “Our goal has always been to make a
positive contribution to Brisbane’s urban landscape and ensure our city’s
homes, and commercial and cultural buildings, all contribute to the community,”
Liam says.
