About Celsius Architecture
Celsius Architecture is a design based architectural studio, bringing innovation and sustainability to the projects that we undertake. Based on the scenic New South Wales Central Coast, our work draws upon the local climate, culture and coastal influences of the area to develop liveable, sustainable and regionally appropriate buildings. We work collaboratively with our clients to establish a thorough, detailed project brief, including functional, aesthetic, social and cultural requirements through the early design stages of the project. This ensures that our design solutions resonate with their unique environments and are tailor made for our clients’ individual needs. We are registered architects and will undertake detailed site analysis, working closely with our team of specialist environmental and engineering consultants to go beyond Basix and provide you with the best advice for your project. 30 Years of Experience. DESIGN SERVICES Celsius creates innovative and sustainable living and working environments in a collaborative process with our clients. We look for opportunities to add economic and environmental value to our clients’ projects through the following key activities; 1. Understanding your requirements Working with our clients to establish a thorough and detailed project brief, including major functional and Cultural requirements prior to the commencement of any design work. This ensures that design solutions are tailor made for clients unique needs. 2. Design for Site and urban connection Careful assessment of the project site and context with a view to maximising the design potential of the site. This includes looking for opportunities of integrating internal and external spaces, exploring potential social and environmental benefits of connections between the project site and its immediate context. 3. Design for climate Careful assessment of local and regional climate characteristics, with a view to creating buildings that are responsive and appropriate to their climatic locations. This has a 3 fold benefit of Reduced costs Reducing the buildings running costs, Sustainability Reducing environmental impacts and Place making Creating dynamic buildings that feel and look ‘at home’ in their setting. 4. Modelling of design options to ensure that concepts are well communicated, tested and fine tuned prior to proceeding with the project. This process assists with the communication of the benefits of a proposal to councils and other stakeholders; shortening approval times ensuring that energy & environmental objectives are met providing re-sale, tenant certainty and marketing for the project Our 4 staged project delivery method ensures that clients maintain control of their project at all times while providing a high level of design quality throughout the project. This process includes the following stages: Concept design Preparation of DA development approvals CC and Construction documentation Construction contract administration We offer an integrated design service that also incorporates the following services: Interior design Landscape design Kitchen, bathroom and joinery design Coordination of other specialist consultants required for the project including Sustainability assessment, thermal simulation & 3D modelling of design options Council liaising and negotiations on your behalf. SUSTAINABILITY Creating sustainable environments is central to our approach to design and finding connections to site and place. We work collaboratively with our clients to achieve healthier spaces in which to live and work, with minimum impact on natural systems, environments or budget. We are registered architects and will undertake detailed site analysis as part of the concept stages of design, working closely with our team of specialist environmental, planning and engineering consultants to go beyond Basix and provide you with the best advice for your project. Our approach involves the following process: Research the site, its physical, regional, climatic and environmental characteristics Orientate building forms to maximise benefits offered by these site attributes, passive solar design and avoid adverse site impacts Choose appropriate building service systems and construction materials, which minimise environmental impacts and promote well-being Model and analyse design options using thermal assessment software to determine the most efficient design to proceed with for thermal comfort and budget requirements This process provides our clients the confidence that they are receiving; Value for expenditure in sustainability initiatives adopted Faster BASIX, BCA and Council approvals on Development applications An accurate understanding of the thermal performance of their building prior to commencement of construction A star rating for your project that benchmarks it against industry standards for ABSA thermal performance and energy usage and marketing Designs that maximise connections to natural attributes of site and location.
