Parlour is ‘a space to speak – bringing together research, informed opinion and resources, generating debate and discussion and expanding spaces for women in Australian architecture.’
The Parlour Seasonal Salons are an opportunity to connect and celebrate women active in our built environment. This year COX hosted the Sydney Winter Salon at our Clarence Street studio.
Conversationalists Maryam Gusheh and Laura Harding set the tone of the night with engaging public conversations. They discussed how their schooling and university experiences were formed by their backgrounds, and how their upbringings coloured their successful, but different, careers.
Associate Professor Maryam Gusheh is a researcher and design educator with specialisation in twentieth-century architectural culture. Laura is a writer and architect who works across a diverse range of architectural and urban projects.
After their conversation was complete, it was over to the guests. Attendees met new people, swapped stories and strategies, formed new networks and revived old ones.
