Geocon’s hospitality arm delivers eighth hotel under Iconic brand name
Property developer Geocon is set to launch its first premium brand hotel in the Australian capital of Canberra.
Their Iconic Hotels independent hospitality division will soon open the highly anticipated Midnight Hotel in Canberra’s $200m Braddon development.
We find out more.
MIDNIGHT HOTEL TO OPEN IN CANBERRA
One of Canberra’s most prominent real estate developers Geocon is pressing ahead with the expansion of Iconic Hotels, its independent hotel division. It was recently announced that the Midnight Hotel was going to open in the Australian capital’s important Braddon development, a complex spearheaded by Geocon, and a number of years in the making.
The Midnight Hotel will be Iconic Hotels’s first premium hotel brand in the city, and the eighth property the group will have brought to market. Last year, Geocon relaunched Iconic Hotels as the new name of their independent hotel operator Adobe Group, and it has been going from strength to strength ever since.
Geocon founder, Nick Georgalis said of the relaunch, “Our new luxury accommodation brand is an exciting project which will provide an unparalleled luxury experience for guests traveling to Canberra. The brand will respond to market demand and exceed and extend the current market offering.”
MIDNIGHT AT BRADDON
Braddon is the $200m mixed-use development, which will see 255 residential units, 2600m2 of commercial office space and the 199-key Midnight Hotel launching in Canberra when it opens later this year.
Iconic Hotels GM Rien Donkin spoke of the property, saying, “Midnight Hotel offers a point of difference for the global guest coming to Canberra. The hotel celebrates a lifestyle philosophy, focused on providing guests and locals with unique experiences that are memorable and authentic. Midnight Hotel is a natural progression for Iconic Hotels, and a brand which further complements our existing portfolio.”
Designed by architectural firm Fender Katsalidis, the hotel boasts 5-star luxury in both its offerings and design, and aims to establish itself as a local community hub, for both travelers and natives alike. The Midnight Hotel is due to open in September.
