We are happy to announce Andrew Tesoriero, Georgios Anagnostou and Connie Argyrou have been appointed as new Directors of Jackson Teece. The three new Directors will be joining Damian Barker in our Sydney studio while Daniel Hudson and John Gow will continue to lead our Brisbane and Newcastle studios respectively.
“Ian Brodie and I have led the firm for over 20 years through possibly the strongest period of growth in Australia’s construction industry. I am delighted Connie, Andrew and Georgios are joining our Directorship as our practice enters the next chapter of growth across our Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane studios.” – Damian Barker, Design Director, Jackson Teece.
Georgios Anagnostou
Georgios brings a unique skill set to the profession having
started out as a builder, which has led to a particular focus on construction
technology, materiality and environmentally sustainable design. His knowledge
and influence of sustainable construction methodologies has led to the recent
delivery of one of the largest applications of CLT in a multi-residential
development in Australia.
Georgios has given multiple industry talks on new
construction technologies and environmental design. He has been involved in the
delivery of GreenStar rated, low and zero energy buildings and developments
both overseas and in Australia and is driven to continue pushing the boundaries
of what is presently perceived possible in mass timber design and construction
technology.
Internationally, Georgios has worked on master planning and
luxury residential developments in UAE/Abu Dhabi, and Education and University
projects in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His experience also extends to mixed-use,
multi-residential, retail and commercial developments as well as healthcare and
community projects.
Connie Argyrou
Connie is actively involved in the industry and with almost
20 years’ experience she is committed to achieving design excellence and the
best outcomes from the site, brief, client and consultants. Specialising in the
analysis of complex sites and in planning for maximum amenity and efficiency,
Connie has led projects that have received industry awards and recognition,
demonstrating her ability to provide innovative architecture in a highly
competitive and cost driven market.
Her experience is diverse from single dwellings to large
scale residential and mixed-use developments; retail and infrastructure
projects; adaptive reuse of heritage buildings; and master planning of green
field sites. She has been involved in all stages of the architectural process,
from concept design to contract administration of projects during construction
and has been successful in many Land and Environment Court appeals.Connie also
contributes to the industry through the promotion of architecture to students
and with her involvement in mentoring programs and has curated a series of the
“Architecture on Show” talks with the City of Sydney Council.
Andrew Tesoriero
A designer with specialist expertise in emerging
technologies and visualisation within the architectural industry, Andrew has an
integral role at Jackson Teece. Alongside Damian Barker, he guides the firm’s
architectural style through the conceptual and design development phases,
resulting in well-resolved, sculptural forms and elegant materiality of our
buildings.
Andrew’s ability to effectively communicate often powerful and
emotive messages to support our design intent through visualisations and
virtual tours is imperative when rationalizing and realising an appropriate
design response. This process results in a highly refined outcome that evolves
throughout the life of a project.
His artistic background as an industrial designer has also
seen Andrew involved in the design of public and urban art which has been
recognised in the industry such as the Melaleuca façade of the iconic 1 Scott
Street building in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane which received a commendation from
the Australian Institute of Architects QLD Chapter for Art & Architecture.
