About Lee Siong Architect
The architectural practice of LeeSiong Architect (LSA) was established in the year 1994. One of its early commissions was as an architectural (projects) consultant to the main contractor on the construction of the Malaysia Technology Park at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. LSA’s primary role was to advice on the interpretation and implementation of the architectural design intent of the project, which included the specification, detailing, sourcing and coordination of passive fire safety components such as fire rated doorsets, firestops, compartmentation and emergency ironmongery and signage. Current and past projects include a wide array of housing projects from low cost apartments to luxury condominiums, small and large industrial complexes and office buildings. In progress are proposals for land-reclamation master planning, special-use buildings and mixed-use developments. Ar Chong Lee Siong is active in the pursuit of the study of fire safety engineering from an architectural perspective. He is a Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (UK), and has delivered numerous papers on the application and interpretation of fire safety provisions in accordance to the provisions of the Uniform Building By Laws. Chong Lee Siong graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture as well as Bachelor in Architecture with Honours (1990) From Deakin University, Australia. He is registered with the Board of Architects, Malaysia and is presently the principal architect of LeeSiong Architect. Lee Siong was the vice-president (2007-2008) of the Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) and a Council Member of the Institution of Fire Engineer U.K. (Malaysia Branch) for the 2001-2003 session and is currently an Examiner in the Examination Panel of the Board of Architects, Malaysia. Lee Siong has contributed to the drafting of the proposed revisions to the UBBL and to the publication “Guide To Fire Protection Malaysia”. He has delivered numerous papers and seminars on the topic of Fire Safety for Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia, Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia and other organizations and is currently in the drafting committee for the new proposed revisions to the Uniform Building By-Laws.
