Achieve The Highest Level of Durability with Osmo

Want to create the perfect finish? To achieve the highest level of durability with Osmo, the goal is to have 60 grams of finish per meter squared (60g/m²) on your wood (through multiple coats). ⁠

So how do you know when this goal is reached? Each application method leaves a different amount of finish on the wood, per coat. We've broken it down by application method to illustrate this below:⁠

• Cloth = 5g/m² (approximately, per coat)⁠
• White pad = 10g/m²â 
• Applicator Fleece pad = 15g/m²â 
• Brush = 20g/m²â 
• Osmo microfiber roller = 30g/m²â 

Remember, the highest durability and stain resistance is achieved at 60g/m², so the fastest way to achieve this is by applying two thin coats using an Osmo microfiber roller. However, you can use any combination of application methods to reach the 60g/m² goal. ⁠

There are two more important factors to consider:⁠

• Not all surfaces will require 60g/m². This level of finish is ideal for high-use areas like counter tops, cutting boards, table tops, and floors. Other, lower use furniture items, wood accents, panelling, etc do not necessarily require 60g/m², so other application methods may be more applicable. ⁠
• Different wood species absorb different amounts of oil. Oak will absorb more than maple, so you may find less is required on more dense species. A lower application amount of approximately 45g/m² is advised for maple.⁠

This information will help you to make informed decisions regarding your application methods on your projects. Make sure you consider its final purpose and use, as well as the wood species - and always do a test patch before committing!⁠
