Airfoil's decision to adopt LocAl® Green aluminium from Capral is both timely and strategic. It responds to increasing market demand for lower-carbon products in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
The carbon emissions in primary aluminium production range from under 4kg CO2e/kg Al to over 20kg CO2e/kg Al, largely dependent upon the energy sources used. The global average carbon emission for primary aluminium is approximately 12.4 kg CO2e/kg Al.* The LocAl® offer from Capral includes two lower carbon aluminium options: LocAl® Green with carbon emissions of 8kg CO2e/kg Al* and LocAl® Super Green at 4kg CO2e/kg Al* - amongst the lowest carbon aluminium available globally.
Airfoil's decision to shift its aluminium procurement to Capral's LocAl® Green Lower Cabon aluminium aligns perfectly with its ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and positions the company as a pioneer in sustainable manufacturing within the air conditioning sector.
The partnership with Capral and the adoption of LocAl® Green aluminium are expected to resonate positively with Airfoil's clientele, particularly those who seek sustainability credentials for their construction or infrastructure projects. Capral's LocAl® aluminium can be used towards Green Star credits under the Responsible Products Framework and is accredited under the Infrastructure Sustainability Council’s ISupply framework as a contributor to IS ratings.
