The name "FIN" stands for "First in Newcastle," a testament to FIN Windows and Doors' pioneering spirit and its role as a cornerstone in Newcastle's building sector for over five decades. With a steadfast commitment to serving the Newcastle, Central Coast, and Hunter Valley regions, FIN Windows and Doors has been a trusted provider of top-quality window and door products, cementing its reputation in the local community.
The company's enduring success can be attributed to its ability to meet each customer's unique needs. As Jeff Picton, Managing Director of FIN, explains, "We pride ourselves on manufacturing windows to the highest standard. We don't just fit the windows; we ensure they're crafted perfectly and then provide qualified carpenters to install them. This approach ensures our customers receive the best possible product and service."
FIN Windows and Doors offers diverse products tailored to various customer needs, including patio rooms, caravan renovations, new homes, and multi-development projects. Their extensive product line includes double-hung windows, sliding windows, awning windows, and various doors. Customers can choose between their standard residential line, the Urban range, and the high-performance Urban Plus architectural range depending on their specific requirements.
The Urban Plus range, in particular, stands out for its ability to span large openings, such as a six-and-a-half-meter door in just three panels. Jeff highlights the uniqueness of this range, stating, "The Urban Plus stacking door is unique in the market, allowing us to achieve large, beautiful openings that customers love, especially for homes with stunning views."
FIN's longstanding partnership with Capral Aluminium is a significant factor in its continued success. For more than 20 years, FIN has relied on Capral to supply high-quality, Australian-made aluminium products, which form the backbone of their windows and doors. This partnership began with FIN adopting Capral's Genesis range, an architectural line that has since evolved into the foundation of FIN's product offerings. "Capral has been instrumental in helping us maintain our high standards," Jeff notes. "All the aluminium we use is sourced from Capral, ensuring that our products are not only Australian-made but also meet the rigorous standards we set for ourselves."
Capral Aluminium designs and tests the window and door systems manufactured by FIN to ensure they meet all relevant Australian standards. This provides Jeff and his team with access to market-leading R&D resources and systems that have been comprehensively tested to meet the specific requirements of the Australian market.
Jeff and the FIN Windows team value the personal aspect of their partnership with Capral, much like many other successful business relationships. Jeff is grateful for the exceptional service provided by the Capral team, especially by his account manager Ian, affectionately nicknamed "Rocky", who ensures unwavering responsiveness and dedication, emphasising that he is an invaluable asset who is always prepared to address any issues, whether it involves replacing damaged materials or expediting orders.
FIN Windows and Doors takes great pride in being an Australian-made company. All their products are manufactured in-house, using local materials supplied by Capral. This commitment to local production supports the Australian economy and ensures that every product leaving the FIN factory meets the highest quality standards.
"We're very proud to say that our windows are made right here in Newcastle, with Australian materials," Jeff says. "It's a point of pride for us, and it's something our customers value as well."
FIN's dedication to sustainability is evident in both its operations and product offerings. The partnership with Capral has enabled FIN to integrate LocAl® lower-carbon aluminium into its product range, aligning with its broader efforts to minimise its environmental impact. This initiative is part of a larger vision to contribute to the global goal of zero carbon by 2050.
FIN's factory operations reflect this commitment to sustainability, powered by over 50 solar panels and predominantly using battery-operated tools to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. While customers may not always explicitly acknowledge these sustainability efforts, FIN believes that these practices are essential for all businesses and are a response to growing awareness of environmental responsibility within the manufacturing and construction sectors. By proudly displaying their commitment to lower-carbon production, FIN is positioning itself as a leader in sustainable manufacturing.
FIN Windows and Doors' story is one of resilience, innovation, and community spirit. Their enduring partnership with Capral, unwavering commitment to sustainable practices, and strong support for local businesses underscore the values that have made FIN a successful and respected Australian company.
