The built environment can be complex and challenging for the general population, but even more so for the vision impaired.
Unfortunately, not all environments make effective use of tactile indicators which can present a number of access challenges and safety hazards, including a higher risk of trips and falls, disorientation, and inadvertently, social exclusion.
As such, Australian Standards AS/NZS 1428.4 requires tactiles to be installed across all new building works as well as renovated public/private works. Further supported by the Building Code of Australia (BCA), as well as the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), click the link below to learn more about your compliance requirements.

Creating safe, positive environments for our bright future stars, Classic was proud to be appointed during the Stage 1 completion of the Kingscliff High School in NSW.
An upgrade and redevelopment set to complete in June, the high school will soon feature future-focused learning environments including a new library, refurbished hospitality teaching facilities, a new creative and performing arts building, and a purpose-built sports pavilion, to list a few.
We supplied and installed Classic Tredfx Safety Stair Nosings and Tactile Indicators. This included Fastile PT30A warning tactile tile, easy to install with its peel-and-stick backing.
