The ClassicScreenWalls on the roof of this inner city police station are another example of combining aesthetics with function.
The modular walls, which measure 2.4 metres at their highest point, are located on different levels of the roof and hide unsightly HVACR mechanical equipment and ducting from view. The longest section is 9 metres in size. The slats are spaced apart enough (18% open air flow) to allow air to ventilate the motors and other components. The air flow rate can be customised per project.
The beauty of ClassicScreenWall is that it arrives onsite as a lightweight modular system (just 14kg per square metre). Which makes it suitable for all roof types. The posts, braces and slats are very easy to carry in to place and they are assembled without any need for cutting or welding on the roof. This speeds up the installation and optimises worker safety.
ClassicScreenWall meets Australian Standards AS1170.1, 1170.2 and 1664.1 and relevant clauses of the Building Code of Australia. It has been certified for wind regions A, B and C. And, it is supported by a 25 year warranty.
The choice of SurfMist for the metal slats contrasts nicely with the surrounding architecture to provide a modern façade.
