This row of chiller fan units sits on the roof of Mercy Hospital in Werribee VIC. They operate around the clock to keep wards and theatres at exactly the right temperatures for the wellbeing of patients and staff. A stone's throw away is a transport hub and residential housing.
Chillers produce a lot of airborne noise which carries over distance and the solution-of-choice here to contain it is the Con-form Group Acoustic+ Wall, as well as our Acoustic+ LouvreWall. They were placed along the side facing the houses and the opposite side which faces the windows of the inner section of the building.
Developed in collaboration with Acoustic Engineers, Acoustic+ Wall is a modular wall system featuring an acoustic core which captures a range of frequencies and volumes. It is tuneable to match the variety of noises produced by each piece of equipment. Australia's only tuneable system. It has a Noise Reduction Coefficient of 0.75 (NRC).
The lightweight steel panels and frame are very easy to carry into position and due to their clever interlocking design they can be installed quickly.
At one end of the lightweight steel platform - our EasyMech CR for concrete roofs - is Acoustic+ LouvreWall which contains sound whilst also allowing air to ventilate through to the equipment. It's NRC rating is even higher (0.95) due to its thicker acoustic core.
