Some rooftop HVACR systems produce an incredible amount of mechanical and wind noise such as the rows and rows of chillers on top of data centres. They have to operate 24/7 to ensure the interior maintains correct levels for the temperature-sensitive data banks.
Con-form Group addressed the challenge of increased noise by developing a super high-performance version of the already successful Acoustic+ light gauge steel noise barrier. That was created in tandem with Acoustic Engineers and has a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.75. It can be seen on hospitals, universities, office buildings, retail centres, aged care facilities, cinemas, restaurants, child care centres and government buildings across the nation.
Acoustic+ DC (DC for data centres) has the maximum NRC of 1.0. It features the same recycled fibrous polyester core but it is three times thicker. This inner core is long lasting with its moisture / UV / fire resistant properties. It is available in five surface densities making it 'tuneable'…the interlocking panels can be arranged to match the variances in outbound noise levels.
The core (made from recycled drink bottles!) features a unique three-phase operation which absorbs, reflects then absorbs the noise again.
Made from light gauge steel, the cassettes are lightweight and incredibly easy to carry into position and install. Meaning they are suitable for all types of roofs.
Architects also appreciate the fact that Acoustic+ DC is available in a range of popular Colorbond colours so that it can blend in with its surroundings.
