In today's world it is paramount to house and secure important information technology that contains data and vital information systems. That is why data centres around the world require the highest performance buildings, to help the operation of data centres to run smoothly. CS Louvres are an integral part in the development of data centres, for its weather protection and superior air flow.
Sydney is a major centre for financial services and the growing electronic payments industry, forming a global platform that spans all six of Australia’s largest cities and 52 markets across the world.
Today’s high-performance information technology demands the highest performing building facilities, keeping data safe, and the systems and equipment secure.
Most Data Centre projects have extremely tight security and this major project in Sydney was no different. The end user client or the project’s location cannot be disclosed due to the very sensitive nature of the site to protect the intellectual property. The owner and operator of this feature facility, is one of the world’s largest digital infrastructure companies and currently operates more than 180 data centres across five continents, accommodating over 9,500 companies worldwide.
To support the data centre’s ventilation and cooling strategy, and ensure an optimised operating environment for efficiency and reliability specialist, high performance louvres are required. It is essential that these louvres provide optimum airflow for the equipment behind, but also offer maximum protection from wind-driven rain to ensure systems don’t get damaged. For this project, CS Louvres were specified.
CS Louvres are in a rare class that give you real peace of mind, as they are tested to Australian/NZ standards on an actual test rig to prove their features in a near-to-real-life setting. This attention to detail is not done by many, as it takes longer and costs more versus a standard theoretical test based on engineering calculations.
The 1600sqm CS Louvre system solution installed at the data centre was an integral part of the architect’s vision and was supported by the engineering design team because of its third-party performance certification.
“This ultra-tight security project site demanded the highest Louvre performance, made to spec and delivered within a super tight lead-time and in very tight COVID restrictions.”
said Bill Maloukis, General Manager of CS Australia.
The Solution
Two CS Louvre models were specified for this project:
RSH-5700The RSH-5700 offers one of the best combinations of airflow, rain defence and spacial efficiency of any louvre in the market with Class A rain defence up to 3 m/s.
Featuring a complex, extruded aluminium blade profile this high performance louvre system is designed to provide maximum defence against water penetration whilst maintaining excellent airflow characteristics.
RS-3105The RS-3105 aluminium ventilation louvre consists of horizontal blade profiles with hidden aluminium mullions, creating a perfect single line aesthetic.
Composed of aluminium uprights and Z-shaped extruded aluminium blades, our RS-3105 ventilation louvre is an economical solution to efficient, aesthetically pleasing ventilation.
