NEW BIKE PARKING FACILITY FOR MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY

Faced with an increasing number of students and staff cycling to campus everyday, FDC Construction was tasked with finding a solution to increase bike parking capacity within the limited parking areas available at Macquarie University latest building project.

Using Cora Bike Rack’s fully dynamic E3DT-GT double-tier system, FDC was able to increase the number of secure AS2890.3-compliant bike parking spaces by 120%.

With a dynamic gas-lift assist upper tier together with a dynamic lower tier, the E3DT-GT allows the use of reduced spacing between racks while still complying with AS2890.3 requirements. Other double-tier systems that use a static lower tier must still adhere to larger spacing requirements, resulting in fewer bike parking spaces in a given area.
