Part of the Plan Should be Bike Parking, Paths

Bike parking and end-of-trip facilities should be part of the planning stage for any new developments.

The Tasmanian Government is reviewing its State Planning Provisions, which determine how many bike parking spots should be provided in new buildings.

Each new development should have a secure space to park a bicycle or scooter, especially if the building is in an inner-city area. This could be individual lockers, a bike room or a communal secured cage in addition to an on-street system.
