ASCO Group are a manufacturer and installer of public amenities including bus stops, public toilets and changerooms. They are firm believers that public spaces should be thoughtfully designed, making them accessible for people of all abilities.
This project required a secure automated sliding door for disabled public toilet access with the addition of a Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK). The AutoCav WC sliding door system provided the functionality required.
Due to the construction being completed off site in ASCO’s Geelong facility, the door system needed to be robust, complete and fit a 90mm frame to help reduce the overall weight of the amenities block. CS Cavity Sliders provided an all-in-one cavity pocket and AutoCav Commercial head unit accompanied by a WC activation pack configured to incorporate the use of an MLAK. CS Cavity Sliders worked with ASCO to introduce their own push button plate (Escutcheon) that enables lights and buttons to be bolted straight on.
The facilities are heavily utilised, at peak times with approximately 50 bus-loads of tourists per day. The accessible public toilets with the addition of the MLAK system assure the community that the facilities are kept in good working order to service those in need. CS Cavity Sliders have continued to work with ASCO providing ongoing support for the product.
