From the foundations of Dincel’s engineering roots combined with our commitment to constant innovation has led to Dincel solving the universal building constraint of water leaking at the basement wall, including the wall/wall-footing joint.
We’ve even put our money where our mouth is, by offering up to 50 years warranty on the basement walls (conditions apply).
How Do I Get My Warranty?
THE BEST OUTCOME WILL BE ACHIEVED BY CONTACTING DINCEL PRIOR TO DA APPROVAL

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Should I Consider the Dincel Waterproof Warranty?
Not only is the Dincel waterproof system less costly and quicker to install than the only viable alternative (i.e., full tanking), if there is an issue with water leakage only one entity is accountable – Dincel. Any issues can be easily pinpointed and rectified with minimal impact.
If there is a water leak with a fully tanked or conventional membrane system, not only will it be difficult to determine where the leak originates (making repair difficult and costly), but there will also be difficulty assigning responsibility for the issue between product supplier, installer, and builder. With Dincel there are no such problems.
The Dincel Waterproof System offers complete peace of mind.
Who Gets The Dincel Waterproof Warranty?
The Dincel Waterproof Warranty is issued to the building owner and project address. Subject to approval by Dincel, the Dincel Waterproof Warranty is transferable if the building ownership changes hands.
How Does Dincel Achieve Quality Control?
Dincel’s own construction experts supervise and oversee the entire installation process from footing construction to resin injection. The Dincel Waterproof Warranty requires that only Dincel Academy trained and authorised expert contractors install all aspects of the waterproofing system.
Do I Need To Use Self-Compacting Concrete?
Yes, it is a mandatory requirement for the Dincel Waterproof Warranty.
What Conditions Surround The Dincel Waterproof Warranty?
The latest terms and conditions can be found here.
How Are You Able To Offer A Waterproof Warranty?
Extensive testing under NATA registered laboratory supervision has proven that Dincel’s waterproofing system will result in excellent liquid tightness supported by full supervision of the entire installation process.
Does The Dincel Waterproof Warranty Cover Me For Every Job Using Dincel?
The Dincel Waterproof Warranty is site specific, with the Terms & Conditions and the Warranty Application Form to be duly executed for each site.
How Long Is The Dincel Waterproofing Warranty Period?
The initial warranty period is for 10 years which can be extended in 10 year increments up to a maximum of 50 years.
What Is The Durability Life Of The Injection Resin?
As specified by the manufacturer, the durability life of the injection resin is 120 years.
What Does Waterproof Mean?
For habitable underground spaces: The basement walls for habitable underground spaces is to consist of an outer Dincel wall + cavity + inner dry wall (where the inner dry wall could be Dincel or any other type of wall). No evidence of Beading of Water on the inner dry wall and no evidence of a Damp Patch.
For non-habitable underground spaces: No evidence of Weeping of Water on the Dincel wall or in the dish drain (beading of water is permitted) and no individual Damp Patch on the Dincel wall or in the dish drain which has an area greater than 0.1m2 (equivalent in area to an A3 sheet of paper) on the Dincel wall or in the dish drain, for any 5m length of wall. (The Institute of Civil Engineers Specification for Piling and Embedded Retaining Walls 3rd Edition” allow for damp patches on up to 10% of the wall and individual damp patches up to 4m2)
What Is A Damp Patch?
When touched, a damp patch may leave a slight film of moisture on the hand, but no droplets of water or greater degree of wetness are left on the hand. On a concrete surface a damp patch is discernible from a darkening of the colour of the concrete. (BS8102-2022 refers “Section B1.9.1 Inspections - Institute of Civil Engineers Specification for Piling and Embedded Retaining Walls 3rd Edition”)
What does Beading of Water mean?
Beading of Water is the state in which individual droplets of water (held by surface tension effects) form on the wall and adhere to the wall. The water beads do not coalesce with each other. The beads remain stationary and do not flow (BS8102-2022 refers “Section B1.9.1 Inspections - Institute of Civil Engineers Specification for Piling and Embedded Retaining Walls 3rd Edition”)
What does Weeping Water mean ?
Weeping of water is the state in which droplets of water form on the surface of the wall and coalesce with other droplets. The coalesced water does not remain stationary on the wall surface, but instead flows down the wall.
Do I Also Have To Sign Up For A Void Free Warranty?
When applying for the Dincel Waterproof Warranty, the Dincel Void Free Warranty is included by default. You only need to apply for the Void Free Warranty independently if your build does not qualify for the Dincel Waterproof Warranty. Dincel will advise you if this is the case.
Are There Any Design Constraints That I Must Take Into Account?
There are a few constraints, but in most cases they can be accommodated with minor design changes. The sooner (preferably during DA planning stage) we are involved in the design process the easier the basement design.
Can I Choose Any Contractor To Install The Dincel Panels?
No, you must use a Dincel approved installer. Please contact your Dincel Account Manager for a full list of approved installers.
Can I Purchase The Dincel Water Stop (DWS) Accessory Without Getting A Waterproof Warranty?
No, the DWS is only available as part of the Waterproof Warranty.
I Understand There Will Be A Charge For This Service. How Is The Price Of The Warranty Calculated?
As site conditions (such as slope, design, complexity and water table depth) vary considerably, the m2 price will be calculated on a site-by-site basis. This price includes all components necessary to achieve the Dincel Waterproof Warranty including Dincel panels and delivery.
If There Is A Zero (0) Leakage Warranty Offered, Why Is There A Need For A Dish Drain And Drainage Allocation Shown In The Dincel Waterproofing Details ?
Building movements occur due to settlement, shrinkage and temperature. Dincel therefore applies injection resin to seal the wall to footing/slab junction after the completion of all structural works, including floor slabs. The completion of structural work for the entire building may continue for many months. The de-watering process may also be terminated prior to the injection process taking place for conditions consisting a high ground water table position. Therefore, the wall to footing/slab joint may leak prior to the injection process taking place, and the leaking water has to be collected. Alternatively for non-submerged conditions, as and when agricultural lines become non-functional, ground water may penetrate at the joints of the basement slab at or near a Dincel wall to footing/slab joint. Other secondary reasons include; capturing water in the event of a basement sprinkler failure, car washing, or general cleaning within the basement. The provision of a dish drain is introduced and in place in consideration of all possibilities.
