Did you know Proofex Torchseal can be used for roof insulation at the same time as waterproofing? For an older apartment block in Sydney's Elizabeth Bay, the strata managers called on BellMont Facade Engineering to solve over-heating issues. While on the roof, the team identified leaking.
BellMont specified roof insulation and three layers of Proofex Torchseal. The membranes offer excellent stability at high and low temperatures, helping reduce energy bills. BellMont's Rodi B. explains: “It is one of the best ways to provide a thermal barrier. Because the original waterproofing membrane was aged and damaged, we were able to solve both issues at once.”
Fosroc ANZ's Gary Bennett says it is a common solution for older buildings. “It can be expensive to retrofit ceiling insulation when the building is occupied. This solution is easier to achieve, to extend the life of a building and add value for owners.”
"Proofex Torchseal is very robust. It is designed for the Southern Hemisphere and has a long track record in Australia," Gary says.
Thanks to BellMont and Wynn Construction Group for choosing to work with Fosroc ANZ on this project.
