Jennifer McSweeney receives prestigious “You can make a difference” HSE Award in Holcim’s virtual awards presentation for outstanding achievement worldwide.
Holcim Australia’s Quality Systems Manager Jennifer McSweeney was selected from hundreds of nominations from across Holcim’s operations globally. She was recognised for her outstanding contribution to advancing Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) initiatives within Holcim Australia and New Zealand.
Jen has played a vital role in fostering a more equitable and inclusive workplace, both within Holcim and beyond. Over the past year, she has been instrumental in supporting the implementation of various D&I programs and partnerships, including establishing collaborations with RizeUp (supporting families affected by domestic violence), Diversity Australia, and Diversity Council of Australia. She has also provided valuable assistance in launching the Superannuation education program, which focuses on women in the workforce, as well as the Unconscious Bias program.
Earlier this year, Jen was awarded the Holcim Australia and New Zealand Annual Award for Diversity and Inclusion, and was featured as part of the International Women’s Day celebration
Helen Jones, Executive General Manager for People and Culture, highlighted the significance of fostering diversity and inclusion within the company. “Enabling greater diversity and inclusion in Holcim helps us create a culture where our people can speak up about risks, wellbeing, and health and safety issues. For Holcim, this is important in creating an environment where people can reach their potential,” she said.
In her spare time, Jen is active in her local community through volunteering at the Kensington Clothing Repair Hub in Melbourne, a community program aimed at reducing landfill waste.
Embracing equity is at the heart of our diversity and inclusion ambitions
On International Women’s Day 2023, we’re taking a moment to reflect on this important observance and this year’s theme of #EmbraceEquity. Within Holcim, embracing equity really speaks to the heart of our diversity and inclusion ambitions.
