A revamped Wetherill Park shopping centre will be unveiled this week â but itâs not just a great boost for the people of Sydneyâs west, itâs also a look at how the region is changing.
The $228 million overhaul is the latest in a string of major shopping centre upgrades across Sydney.
So far, centres at Macquarie Park, Chatswood, Warringah, Campbelltown, Hurstville, and Castle Towers have been overhauled as shopping centres change to match consumer behaviour.
âAustraliaâs population is growing, but itâs also evolving,â Stocklandâs commercial property CEO John Schroder said.
âThatâs being picked up by independent retailers who are abandoning the âhigh streetsâ for the shopping malls.â
Retailers understand consumers are increasingly time poor, meaning shopping centres make more sense.
KRGS Doors have been working around the clock to ensure rolling shutter doors are installed and shops have locked up before opening day. Commercial Doors have been installed at Cotton On, My House, Red Dollar, Vitamin King, Suite Boutique, Dick Smith, Jay Jays, Moe & Co, Lonsdale and Foot Locker.
