Why does the use of polyurea membranes offer superior waterproofing compared to traditional PU systems?
Extremely low vapor transmission rate — Pure Polyurea offers a very low water vapor transmission rate (Testing method E96-05 (B): 0.18 g/(h·m²)), which is lower than any elastomeric coating used in the industry. For that reason, pure polyurea is used inside water tanks as a primary lining.
Flexible & Durable— Elaston polyurea has excellent flexibility and elasticity, allowing it to accommodate movement in the substrate, and thermal expansion without cracking. This characteristic stays with Elaston for the entire lifespan of the product. (Over 30 years)
Adheres to less-than-perfect substrates—Elaston Polyurea has excellent adhesion to a variety of surfaces, providing a strong bond that prevents delamination. It can also be applied directly to geotextile even when there is no underlying substrate.
Permanently elastomeric— Elaston Polyurea comes with up to 400% elongation property, and it remains its property throughout its life. That helps the material to stay unaffected by movements in the substrate due to temperature fluctuations.
