In mid-2018 Laing O’Rourke approached Moddex to deliver handrails and balustrades solution to meet stringent crowd-loading demands on two of the platform stairways at Sydney Central Station. The Moddex team provided its design and engineering expertise to produce a suitable design.

Challenging project installation timelines in a New Year’s public transport space

Timing was crucial on this project. Moddex was requested to install the handrails for this public transport project in a narrow window over the peak New Year period. By using 3D-modelling, we collaborated closely with our client from the outset to design, manufacture and deliver a solution. To achieve the loading requirements, while eliminating the need for on-site welding and reducing install lead times.
