The Forbes World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies list now includes Otis among 400 multinational organizations ranked by employees’ responses to questions about gender equality, career advancement opportunities, parental leave, and more.
“Women make up half of the global population, yet are too often underrepresented in the workforce – and especially in leadership positions – because of systemic and social factors,” said Abbe Luersman, Otis Chief People Officer. “At Otis, we aspire to build a workforce that mirrors the diversity of our customers and the communities where we live and work, and we take pride in creating an environment where all colleagues can thrive.”
In partnership with market research company Statista, the Forbes list identifies 400 companies “excelling in championing women at work.” Statista surveyed approximately 85,000 women working at multinational institutions in 36 countries about pay, career advancement opportunities, and flexible work arrangements. The final ranking also considers a company's overall corporate responsibility and public perception related to gender equality as well as objective criteria, including female representation on corporate boards and executive ranks.
Otis was also recently named to the Forbes World’s Best Employers list.
Otis values diversity across multiple dimensions in its workplace, including gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, background, perspective and experience. The company pledged to reach gender parity among its executive ranks by 2030 as part of the Paradigm for Parity coalition. And Otis prides itself on a diverse Board of Directors, with six of 10 members who are women, racially/ethnically diverse or both.
