Until 9 October 2022, the Dutch city of Almere host the International Horticulture Exhibition around the theme ‘Growing Green Cities’. The French Pavilion is one of the most noteworthy. It was designed by Wald.City, founded by Frédérique Barchelard and Flavien Menu, who develop projects based on low-carbon construction and the development of sustainable lifestyles. Created on the theme ‘Back to the Future’, the pavilion features a roof structure covered with Serge Ferrari’s Flexlight Perform 502 S2, an innovative technical membrane which combines translucency, light weight, strength and flexibility, allowing the product to lend itself to the most creative shapes and blend in with the most daring projects.
In addition to the roof, Serge Ferrari Group has also supplied a number of spheres covered with Batyline Elios, intended to be used during yoga classes held in the Pavilion’s park.
Embodying a vision of architecture at once pragmatic, prospective and sustainable, the French Pavilion is the continuation of a project that extends way beyond Floriade Expo.
