Gone are the days when, come night fall or rain, people would bring their seat cushions back inside the house with them. If there is one thing that shows how much people think of patios and gardens as extensions of their home now, it is the great strides made in outdoor furniture design, thanks to the development of fabrics and paddings designed specifically for use outside. A true revolution that unshackled the creativity of industrial designers and saw the rise of new outdoor spaces, offering increasingly comfortable seating, including sofas, armchairs, lounge chairs, cushions, etc.
In Serge Ferrari’s case, the creative acceleration of the past three years that brought a solution to the growing demand for greater customization and comfort is perhaps best exemplified by the launch of Batyline Elios.
Batyline Elios, Inspiring Through Touch
Delivering the same technical properties that have made the success of the best-selling range it belongs to (dimensional stability, resistance to fouling, UV, tearing and fading, easy maintenance, etc.), Batyline Elios seeks to deliver the same visual quality as textile products limited for indoor use. Batyline Elios combines flexibility, comfort, rich colours and a soft touch, thus further blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. Available in a palette of 10 soft, powdery shades, the material can be sewn to make elegant upholstery for contemporary furniture.
Batyline is one of the Serge Ferrari’s best-selling ranges, known and appreciated around the globe. This high-quality technical fabric, which made a new outdoor way of life possible, has been praised and used by the best indoor and outdoor furniture brands, who use it to make their products lighter, more comfortable, resilient and durable. Yet another expression of Serge Ferrari’s industrial know-how, the range has been continually upgraded and improved thanks to the work of the Group’s R&D and Design departments.
For nearly 30 years, industrial manufacturers specialising in furniture, and especially in outdoor furniture, have understood that Batyline should be integrated into the early stages of the design process. It can be sewn or welded and is easily combined with other materials (teak, steel, aluminium, etc.) to make the design lighter and more contemporary in style. Batyline is the perfect solution to create comfortable, easy to maintain furniture, that will not lose its shape or colour over time.
