âWeathertex was a product that was easier to work with.â
Ian Jones background
I studied in Melbourne as an architectural draftsman & worked there for a number of years. In 1991, I made the move to Bendigo to follow job prospects due to recession, from 120 applicants I was awarded the job. Working as a design draftsman in a number of architectural firms, I extended my experience & was eventually responsible for larger more complicated projects. In 2001 I undertook the National Program of Assessment, undertaken by the AACA ( Architects Accreditation Council of Australia ). Upon completion of that assessment, only 3 of the 21 passed, I was awarded the same level of education as a university student who had completed their Bachelor of Architecture. I sat my registration exams & was finally qualified in 2002.
OTS Architecture
Working for a number of architectural firms, I was always handed the complicated projects or the difficult clients. I lost faith in the directors of those companies who had a greater desire for money than for architecture, it showed in the office, the project & the clientsâ faces. I felt I could do better, so I started my own office & have been building up the business gradually, one step at a time.
