The site of this corner terrace house at the end of the quiet cul-de-sac, next to a park connector, was chosen together with the owner after reviewing numerous potential sites. There are lush and mature trees along the park connector and the site has an extended portion in front due to the cul-de-sac.
These are perfect for the owner who likes greeneries and allows him to enjoy a private garden, ‘borrowed’ views of the park and a small family pool in land scarce Singapore. A full height curtain wall system along side of the house was conceptualised in the design to maximize views for all rooms towards the lovely green trees. The trees also form a natural screen between the house and the park connector. A concrete skin seemingly stemmed from the rear wall forms an undulated skin to outlined the entire external form of the house to become the roof, front facade and terminates as a commanding cantilevered roof over the car porch.
This skin protects the house from the weather and scrutiny of neighboring lots in the compact neighborhood.
