Located on ‘The Avenue’ in the heart of the Mt Buller ski resort, the University Ski Club Mt Buller Lodge is an all year lodge with the capacity to accommodate over 70 visitors.
FMSA was engaged by the client to develop a strategic response for proposed additions that would further enhance the experience of their members and further encourage year round use of the lodge.
Maintaining the site coverage of the existing lodge, the new additions include the extension of the shared living and recreation room and balcony, dining area and several bedrooms to improve the overall amenity of the facility.
The design of the new spaces were designed as a continuation of the existing building form, following the style, and profile of the existing lodge to create a sense of harmony and wholeness. The durable metallic cladding of the extension juxtaposes the timber and shiplap cladding of the existing lodge, while offering significant maintenance benefits for the owners.
