Construction of the Parnell Computer and Physics Laboratories refurbished 310m2 of existing teaching and collaborative learning space. These spaces were refurbished in conjunction with Fitout and Refurbishment Australia as managing contractor and were delivered across a condensed programme over the end of year break. To enable this DM2 undertook a detailed investigation of existing materials and student requirements in order to deliver a sensitive refurbishment which in turn provided students with the required technological access in order to achieve high level educational and collaborative outcomes. The main objective of this refurbishment was to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment to teaching spaces within one of the heritage listed great court buildings. This refurbishment allowed the School of Physics and Mathematics to increase the student numbers and in turn condense course delivery programmes.
