Founder Arch. Enrique O. Olonan formed SCDI 31 years ago based on his vision to provide valuable services to clients, build partnerships in the community, and deliver important assets and means such as schools, hospitals, residences, workplaces, and social and cultural centers. From its humble beginnings, SCDI has built over time a solid reputation for delivering quality service, on time and within budget, which made its mark as a forerunner Triple A construction company in the industry today. The company was founded in 1982 under the name Specified Contractors, Inc (SCI), but it came from E. Olonan Enterprises, a small – scale fabrication business. Growth of this small building operation was inevitable as Arch. Olonan began to take on larger diversified projects. Despite 12 years of successful operation in the building industry, Arch. Olonan recognized further opportunities and the companies strategic direction was altered to take advantage of these opportunities in the real estate industry. In 1994, the company name became Specified Contractors and Development, Inc (SCDI) to mark this change in focus. This growth in the company has led to the incorporation of other subsidiary companies of SCDI. Enrique O. Olonan & Associate Architects was created to focus more on the Architectural and Engineering Design of construction. Starland Properties, Inc (SPI) was formed to manage the hotel and restaurant operations and Sunrise Holiday Concepts, Inc (SCHI) became the first Filipino owned time-share company in the Philippines. The continuing desire for quality and professional service was reaffirmed with this change. Arch. Olonan’s insistence on quality of service, hard work and responsiveness to client needs remains the company philosophy and has led to its success in a competitive industry. Moreover, the company’s ability to address changing conditions and demands, find and serve diverse markets, and expand its services has resulted in the company to growing far beyond its founder’s dreams. Milestone Specified Contractors and Development Inc. (SCDI) , as its name suggests, is a general contractor and developer geared toward meeting specific needs and the increasing demand of the country’s construction industry. Formerly known as E.O. Olonan Enterprises in 1975, it was incorporated in 1982, changing its name to Specified Contractors Inc. Since then, the company has grown rapidly. With its continuing growth, it expanded its line of business to include Land and Property Development. Thus, in 1994, it assumed the name Specified Contractors and Development Inc., to reflect its broadened scope. SCDI is classified as a Triple A licensed contractor by PCAB (Philippine Contractors and Accreditation Board). This is the highest classification for licensed building and engineering contractors in the Philippines. By then, SCDI has earned a well-deserved reputation for its expertise in medium to high-rise construction, finishing and fit-out works as well as land development. SCDI gears for a more productive future with continual improvement in all fields of our business with its ISO 9001:2008 Certification last December 2013.
