RIBA HK is launching a post-COVID-19 furniture design competition to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Hong Kong chapter.

The pandemic completely changed people’s lives, and its impact was most keenly felt by those living in densely populated urban areas such as Hong Kong.

COVID-19 has changed the way we view both public and private spaces, with the need for social distancing informing how we use or visit those spaces.

As the world adapts to the new reality, there’s huge scope for architects to provide necessary solutions as we enter a post-pandemic period, a chance to rethink and reshape our use of space.

We would like to call on the Hong Kong design community to embrace this exciting challenge and create innovative furniture that is an effective solution in a post-COVID-19 world.
