Blossom, an international Asian cuisine restaurant, is one of the many restaurants that sets foot in Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore. As a 550-square-metre space, its footprint is rather miniscule compared to the vast and extensive lobby where it is located. Many restaurants in this case, whether in large hotel lobbies, shopping mall atria, food courts, or airports, are usually designed to be as open as possible. These restaurants are common to be only bounded by low partitions, which usually function to demarcate the dining space so that it does not interfere with the overall circulation.

Recently, compact design has gained much popularity as a solution to a denser and more expensive space in cities around the world. In terms of functionality, compact design boasts its spatial flexibility—being able to cover multiple needs within one space. If most compact designs are usually applied for residential buildings, the recently finished Deloitte Center for the Edge (Asia Pacific) office in Singapore explores the possibilities of this design approach for a shared space.

Two years ago, when MRT Jakarta and many of the now-opened public spaces in the city had not yet existed, the idea of hanging out and strolling in some parks were deemed peculiar. With most of the public parks in Jakarta being gated, rarely maintained and poorly lit in the evening, parks were not the place of choice for people to spend their time. Parks, like those surrounding Monumen Nasional, were only popular on weekends or holidays, and people preferred to be in an air-conditioned mall, whiling their time away.

Di saat rancangan hunian berlomba-lomba untuk tampil dengan berbagai bentuk yang unik, Adit Haus karya Office S A menjadi sangat menarik dengan kesederhanaan bentuknya. Berlokasi di pinggir Kota Bandung, rumah ini memiliki tampak yang familier—fasad dengan gabungan bentuk segi empat dan segitiga. Impresi awal yang menunjukkan kesederhanaan memang dikejar sebagai wujud pendekatan desain rumah ini.

Project Multi Production Office atau yang biasa disebut MP Office ini bermula saat klien kami mendatangi arsitek dan meminta untuk membuat bangunan kantor yang iconic serta memiliki estetika yang mampu bertahan lama (tidak cepat bosan termakan tren dan waktu).

Mendesain sebuah kantor yang kemudian dapat dialihfungsikan menjadi rumah tinggal menjadi tantangan bagi arsitek untuk menciptakan ruang yang nyaman untuk bekerja dan tinggal. Rukan tipikal biasanya memiliki site memanjang dengan tangga pada bagian belakang dengan bukaan yang hanya ada pada fasad bangunan. Proyek yang berlokasi pada sebuah lingkungan perumahan di Jakarta Selatan ini berdiri di lahan yang memanjang.

SUB Office yang berlokasi di Bintaro di area perkampungan warga memiliki akses jalan yang sempit dari perumahan besar Bintaro Jaya. Kaveling kecil dengan pemandangan sekitar ke arah perkampungan dengan tipologi rumah tinggal dan lanskap yang masih asri, juga berbatasan langsung dengan pagar perumahan mewah.

Apa yang Anda pikirkan saat pertama kali mendengar kantor partai politik? Bagi Delution, kantor politik khususnya di Indonesia memiliki kesan yang kaku, tertutup, tidak bersahabat, dan membentengi diri dari lingkungan masyarakat. Mungkin konflik yang sering terjadi baik di internal ataupun eksternal partai serta demo masyarakat menjadi alasan utama kantor partai terkesan seperti benteng dan tertutup. Padahal, secara filosofis hal tersebut sangat bertentangan dengan nyawa sebuah partai politik dan konstituennya yang merupakan masyarakat itu sendiri. Partai Golkar DPD DKI Jakarta, selaku pemilik proyek dan salah satu partai tertua di Indonesia berniat untuk melakukan suatu revolusi untuk menjadi partai yang lebih modern, transparan, kolaboratif, dan terbuka sehingga dapat menarik perhatian generasi muda yang tertarik dengan dunia politik untuk bisa berpraktik secara langsung. Tentunya semua visi itu harus sejalan dengan bangunan kantornya yang merupakan wadah utama aktivitas serta “wajah peradaban” dari partai politik ini.
