Nurturing Well-Recognized New Talent For the Construction Industry
The Chevalier Group is dedicated to nurturing talents. By collaborating with various organizations with an aim of promoting recognized talent development for the Hong Kong construction industry, the Group contributes to the construction industry’s development in different aspects. Chevalier (Construction) Company Limited ("Chevalier (Construction)"), a group company of the Chevalier Group, is committed to this endeavor. Since the 1990s, over 450 apprentices have undertaken the Group’s and Chevalier (Construction)’s apprenticeship programme in a variety of fields including building construction, quantity surveying, building services, land surveying and the like.

Ms. Kitty Li, Assistant Quantity Surveyor of Chevalier (Construction), has been recognized as the Top 10 Outstanding Apprentices in the "2021 Outstanding Apprentice Award Scheme" organized by the Vocational Training Council (VTC). Winners from Chevalier (Construction) of this award from VTC in recent years included Ms. Momo Li, Mr. Cheng Yuen Chiu and Mr. Bill Ng either as Top 10 or Top 30 outstanding apprentices.

The Seminar saw the attendance of over 80 participants comprising of management, mentors, “senior” apprentices, apprentices, among which some 20 colleagues stationed at construction sites joining via online platform. Award-winning outstanding apprentices, “senior” apprentices who have finished their apprenticeship training in recent years, as well as management-grade colleagues and mentors who were once apprentices were invited to share their experiences at the Seminar.
Mr. Kuok concluded that the Group attached high importance to the apprenticeship programme. Mr. Kuok went on to highlight that it is not uncommon to see top management who were once apprentices in the construction sector. At the Chevalier Group, he himself and some of the other management colleagues present at the Seminar were also once apprentices.
