8 mins Lecture: What is Commercial Interior Design

I have talked about the design of the commercial space, the positioning of the market, the establishment of the brand, the development of technology, and today I will tell you about our responsibility to the industry. What do we do to society.

So, in fact, as designers, we have many responsibilities. We are not just a business. In fact, the work we do is responsible for the society. Today I will talk about how we do it.

Because in the commercial society, it is right for people, how to use it, its commercial space, and besides the company to run its business, will it harm the society? Does he have any influence on people? In fact, I think that when we do business design, we must consider our sense of responsibility to the society. How many aspects can we consider?

The first is environmental protection. In the past ten years or so, we have paid more and more attention to the environmental protection of interior design, because the materials we use and the things we use in the space will harm the entire environment. ? Therefore, in the entire industry, some standard regulations have begun to come out. For example, in the United States there is a certificate called "LEED", which is a certificate of environmental protection, which can be used as a reference for us to see if our works meet its requirements.

We are also very lucky that a few years ago, we did a project that won the LEED Gold Award. LEED's approach is relatively difficult. Because everything is added one by one, including the materials used, its lighting, electricity consumption, the water in the bathroom, and its sewage during the construction period. When it is in operation later, its Does the management mode meet the requirements of environmental protection, no power consumption, and no waste? So when we were working on this project, the overall cost accounted for almost 20%, because in terms of some materials, we found a lot of different materials that meet its score line requirements.

Including you see that this kind of floor is made of bamboo. Bamboo is an environmentally friendly material, including this furniture, which is also very special. It comes from Poland, because the wood is cut from a sustainable forest to make its furniture, so it has a score.

Of course, we also make some installations. It seems that these old bottles are used to make some installations, even if old things are remade, they also have points. Including its carpet, it is also a special carpet. The only manufacturer we are looking for in the world is that more than 50% of it is made of recycled materials to make this carpet. So although the cost of the whole project is high, it will have an impact on the society: "Oh, so we can do this according to environmental protection."

Of course, when we design, we must pay attention to the overall safety. Because our design space is used by people, we must follow the national regulations, including its safety and fire prevention, so we are doing many projects, and the requirements are quite high. For example, the entire roof, which looks like wood, is made of metal, which is quite difficult to make. Because our project is in a 115-story high-rise building, it is a super high-rise, and its fire protection requirements are super high, so when we make this roof, you can see that it is all made of metal, and it seems that the wood is made of metal. Because it has to follow the regulations of the whole country and the requirements of fire protection.

For example, in this hotel, you can see that we seem to use wooden strips to make the ceiling device. In fact, the whole is also made of metal, so we must cooperate with the safety regulations of the whole person during the design process. Come and do our design.

Of course, we must also pay attention to public health, especially now that we are in this post-epidemic period, we must promote more hand washing and cleaning. Generally speaking, in our project, we will design our washroom very carefully to attract more people to use its equipment and facilities, so when you see this washbasin, we still keep some for others The height at which children go to wash their hands, including this, is the barrier-free toilet for our needy people. Including some very special toilets, we also hope to make some contributions to public health.

Of course, in terms of social morality, I think our design is educational, that is, we must have a positive energy feedback to the society, and we must not have some bad influence on the society. So I am very happy, that is to say, the design we make must have love, in terms of morality, it is very helpful to society.

I have also made some more civilian spaces, including this big time food court in Hong Kong, where I made a table, and I saw a photo that moved me, what did I see? That is to say, as you can see in the picture, we specially designed a communal table, a large table. My hope is that if a person in a wheelchair can sit at the same dining table with his friends and family, he can enjoy his meal together. In fact, when we were designing, we had already conceived it like this. Later, I really saw that in these two photos, it was a table, and there were many disabled people using this table. I just think our design really helped them, they really enjoyed eating, and he was with his family. I think this is a kind of our society, which is to design services for some small and vulnerable groups.
