Melink Intelli-Hood Installation at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong

To save energy and reduce carbon footprint while offering a 24/7 dining service, Melink Intelli-Hood demand control kitchen ventilation was installed to reach this goal. With total motor power of 15HP, operating 24hours daily, Intelli-hood helped saving 56,053kWh energy per year and saved 75,111lbs carbon footprint per year. While energy savings and carbon savings are promised, the payback for this investment was 2 years, giving IRR 47% for 5 years. The figures reported are for energy saved from fan speed and fan operation only. If we consider HVAC system as a whole, saving kitchen fan speed also contributes to saving the overall capacity of cooling system which has huge impact on comfort as well as environment too.
