K11 ATELIER King's Road, the first building in Hong Kong achieving Final Platinum levels of WELL and LEED certifications, is having over 30% energy savings compared against the ASHRAE Standard.
A challenge that the contractor faced was with the pressurized stairs concrete ductwork, dimension 2m x 1m, 10m in length. There were too many mini holes along the concrete ductwork pipeline resulting high risk of failing pressure test.
Before engaging Aeroseal for duct sealing solution, contractor was evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness to install galvanized air ducts in the concrete pipe. However, performance of this solution is yet to be proven.
Aeroseal was then used to assess leakages and sealing at the same time, recording leakage decreasing from 1,318.5L/s to 35L/s. The Aeroseal sealing was successful, providing 97.3% sealing.
It is indeed a simpler but promised solution compared to conventional method.
We are proud to be offering solutions that contribute to this state-of-the-art green building in Hong Kong.
