Tsuen Wan Plaza Playground Project

We think that both the landscape architect and the lighting consultant have their admirable job to improve Hong Kong people's quality of life. They are professionals and their work contributes to transform every available piece of land into a livable space in urban area of the city. Lumen Design and Ligman Lighting are honored to be their project partner doing our part of the whole.

In this issue, we would like to share with our Readers about Tsuen Wan Plaza Playground project. It is a podium children playground garden nearby a shopping mall. We worked with the Lighting Consultant to provide a lighting calculation proposal that was approved to use Ligman MIC 3 outdoor floodlight projectors 6x18w LED mounted on 6 metre height aluminum pole for the general area where children playsets are installed. The aluminum pole can withstand 288 km/hr. windspeed, while the floodlight projector can hold against windspeed 120km/hr. Same wind load performance with the Ligman Syndy 1 post top 55w COB indirect reflector light mounted on 4.5 metre height aluminum pole. The wind load safety consideration is very important because Hong Kong has typhoon/rainy storm season from April - September. Ligman Lighting engineers have the expertise to ensure their lighting pole wind load calculation metrics comply with our local project specification.

For the greenery and shrub areas, the Lighting Consultant prefers to use Ligman Benton 21w COB Bollard Lights. This is a new product, by the way. It is made of extruded aluminum complete with integral control gears and a clear toughen glass diffuser; mixed with Ligman UTAH ECO 1 Planter Light which is a 7w LED accent light projector, it became a joyful urban playground to delight the kids for hours.

All Ligman lighting fixtures are having CCT3000K consistently for the whole playground garden area. Lumen Design team put in a lot of effort to ensure the entire project lighting proposal can achieve the design goals which are aesthetically harmonizing the landscape and children playset design, safe enough to withstand typhoon wind load, low energy consumption, and low maintenance.
