About Livehome (Hong Kong) Ltd

Livehome (HK) Ltd. was established in year 1999 and was project contractor for metal ceiling and membrane ceiling.

In year 2009, the metal ceiling business was abandoned and only concentrated to membrane ceiling works. A research centre was founded in Canton Panyu and Hong Kong. The conceptual design idea from designers became true.

In year 2012, learned from European design, membrane product with 3D stainless steel frame was put to market, also equipped with T5 Fluorescent tube for lighting.

In year 2014, started design to use LED tape for membrane ceiling lighting. Under years of experience, introducing Japan Nichia 757 series LED product, with good energy saving and environmental protection. 60 thousand hours life long free of fault and light decay.

In year 2015, frame edge free aluminium alloy lighting box was introduced from Germany to make advertising box with membrane graphic printing. Graphic printing to ceiling membrane also became popular.

In year 2016, started putting out mixing of membrane and gypsum board ceiling design. Cutting out different shape in gypsum board and the void mounted with membrane and backlit by dimmable LED lighting.

In year 2019, due to undertaking of renovation membrane ceiling work from Hong Kong Government Headquarter, our company's membrane ceiling SUNDANCE with good lighting transmittance and equipped with 757 series dimmable LED lighting, compliance with Energy Efficiency Scheme from E & M Services Department of Hong Kong Government, was listed as supplier by A.S.D.

In year 2021, Undertaking the membrane ceiling work in the Hong Kong Airport carpark building 8/F and 9/F extension. Hence we are qualified as supplier of Hong Kong Airport Authority.

In year 2022, we are successfully awarded the membrane ceiling work contract of Tai Wai MTR Station retail centre project by Hong Kong MTR Corporation.

Membrane ceiling, also known as stretched ceiling, was invented and used in Switzerland. In the year 1967 it was perfected by Frenchman Mr. Farmland Scherrer and became popular in France and Europe.

In the 1980's membrane ceiling was successfully promoted by France manufacturers to other advanced countries North America and Australia. Later Switzerland and Germany began to have their own product development in the mid 1980's.

In ther early 1990's there was Extenzo membrane ceiling installing in Hong Kong and China mainland. Because o the adverse factors: thorough measurements were required before product ordering, ceiling cover edges had to be welded and clipped by different shapes of aluminium strips for trimming, about half of a month was required for product ordering, the material width is only 1.5 meters, change of ceiling cover size is not possible after arriving installation site and there was no remedy method for any subsequent damage. Thus membrane ceiling market was not popular at that time.

In 1995, Formosa membrane began its production in guangdong. With Germany specialized PVC and American anti-bacteria technique for ceiling membrane material. Only 3 days required for product ordering and 2 days for rectification of damages. No ceiling joint for 4mx100m. With great flexibility in installation. It becomes the pioneer of membrane ceiling material in Asia region.

In year 2000, besides translucent, gloss, matt, metallic, fabric and 6 perforated types of membrane surface, in addition, sandy, striation and satin membrane surface are available to market. They are suitable for use in pillar head and wall surface as well as false ceiling.

With many years continuous improvement, the product is more sophisticated than that of Europe. There are eight types of membrane surface and more than hundred colours for selection.

Fire incombustible, heat and sound insulation, anti-bacteria and anti-electrostatic are recognized in many countries. The product are exported to more than ten nations and regions.
