Defective concrete could be a serious threat to human lives and properties, we must take immediate actions to prevent any potential danger. In order to make sure the repair works are done properly, we need to pay attention to all the steps and details. In this post, we will illustrate the major steps of concrete repair.

Four Key Concrete Repair (Spalling) Steps

1) Substrate preparation – Remove all defective concrete and rust on the reinforcement bar

2) Apply primer – Apply primer on the reinforcement bar and substrate as corrosion protection & bonding agent

3) Apply repair mortar – Fill the mortar to the repair area and build up the thickness

4) Curing – Prevent water loss from concrete surface and prevent cracking
