Ecologically sustainable, economically sensible - Sustainable means: no more wood may be harvested than will grow back.
Forestry training and further education in Austria is one of the best in the world. The offer of training and further training ranges from training to become a forest warden to further training for forest owners, because: Every forest must be professionally nurtured, cared for and looked after.
Studies have shown that a well-managed, well-tended, constantly reforested forest stores more carbon in the long term than a "primeval forest" left to its own devices.
Proper care and use of forests should permanently maintain their biological diversity, productivity and regenerative capacity so that the forest can fulfill its functions over the long term. This concept of sustainability is also reflected in the fact that people prefer to speak of "wood harvesting" today. And like after every harvest in a field, the forest is sown again, ie young trees are planted again for every "harvest".
PEFC: wood from sustainable forestry
At TRAPA Floors, we attach great importance to careful and responsible treatment of people and the environment. This is why the wood for our natural wood floors comes from PEFC-certified European forestry. We as a company TRAPA are also certified.
PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) is a global institution for ensuring sustainable forest management. The PEFC certificate is based on the strict criteria of the European forest ministers for the protection of forests.
Wood and wood products with the PEFC seal, such as our TRAPA parquet, have been proven to come from ecologically, economically and socially sustainable forestry - guaranteed not from questionable origins.
