In order to promote industrial upgrading, the Dongguan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to select the Songmushan Reservoir, integrate the buildable land in the surrounding towns and districts, and build the Songshan Lake High-tech Industrial Park. The project was expanded from the winning proposal for the urban design of the central area to a waterfront area of about 13 square kilometers. The spatial blueprint was formulated and the implementation process was coordinated.
Project thinking and technical characteristics:
1. Innovative planning concepts
The plan targets new industrial cities rather than industrial parks. The construction of industrial parks is mostly centered on production, gathering population but lacking urban atmosphere. The project takes "new city" as the design goal, and builds a coordinated growth system of new city and new industry through characteristic theme, landscape pattern, functional structure, transportation mode, architectural organization, and design management.
2. Open urban design
Cooperate with the rhythm of implementation and development, and innovate the working mode of urban design. By organizing the synchronous design platform of the government, developers, planning, architecture, engineering, and landscape disciplines, the joint force of the design industry new city will be formed; through the continuous tracking of design coordination, the urban design theme of "Science and technology, landscape and water" will continue to be Space implementation and operation.
3. Exemplary Industrial New City
The planned and constructed multi-mode road system with suitable terrain features, the large park system combined with valleys and lakes, and the special environmental characteristics and lifestyles make Songshan Lake Industrial Park a demonstration area for the construction of a new mountain industry.

This work focuses on designing the urban ecological safety space system, the urban public function space system, the urban transportation system and the urban construction management and guidance system.
The outline of static landscape characteristics based on ecological safety network, the outline of mobility characteristics based on various traffic service modes, and the outline of service structure of multi-phase urban public centers are superimposed to form a reasonable spatial organization ability. layout, and an urban growth structure with a significant visual impact.
The design focus is to control the future growth logic of Songshan Lake New City, to grasp the urban space scale, to control and design the ecological environment space plane scale and the height of artificial buildings.
