The Project located on the West side of the Zhengzhou Cranes Lake. The design calls for “Openness & Prospect”, in the sense of both architecture as well as a company ethic.
The building addresses the site requirements and the architecturally potential simultaneously. After exhausting numerous studies, we decided to break through the distinct notion of inside and outside space. A series of carefully staggered atria activate and permeate deep into the interior, these atria act as an interface to the public space of the city and therefore transform the streetscape into a vibrant and collective whole. The openness and interconnectivity are then articulated such that they become major components in the generation of the building composition.
The resultant building form was then accentuated by the façade as an interlace pattern, alternating every two floors creating an interlocking but yet smooth effect. This echoes the spatial composition and also re-inforce the very corporate image of “Openness & Prospect” that was predetermined at the outset with the client.
