Hong Kong – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Hong Kong Chapter proudly announces the winners of its prestigious 2024 Honors & Awards Program. This annual event showcases exceptional achievements in architecture, interiors, urban design, and unbuilt projects from our members and licensed architects across Hong Kong, China, and the Asia Pacific region.


The AIA Hong Kong Honors & Awards aim to inspire the architectural community to pursue excellence, champion sustainability, and create a lasting positive impact on the built environment. This year, nine outstanding projects have been recognized for exemplifying these values:

Judging Panel:

This year’s winners were selected by a distinguished jury, including:

Yung Ho Chang, FAIA - Founding Partner, Atelier Feichang Jianzhu

Barbara Bouza, FAIA, IIDA - Former President, Walt Disney Imagineering

Garth Rockcastle, FAIA - Retired Professor of Architecture, University of Maryland

Vivian Ngo, AIA, LEED AP, WELL AP - Design Principal, NBBJ

Lyndon Neri - Founding Partner, Neri&Hu Design and Research Office

The jury evaluated submissions based on innovation, technical excellence, and adherence to the AIA Framework for Design Excellence, which promotes sustainable and socially responsible design.

Special Recognitions:

In addition to project awards, AIA Hong Kong honors individuals and organizations that significantly contribute to architecture and public awareness. This year, Donald Choi was awarded Honorary Affiliate Membership for his exceptional service in promoting social and environmental values in architecture.

Community Citations were awarded to:

Design Trust Futures Studio for revitalizing public spaces through community collaboration.

Raymond Fung Wing-Kee, JP for showcasing local architectural talent through his book, Untold Stories: Hong Kong Architecture.

Hong Kong Brutalist Architecture Research for raising awareness of significant mid-20th-century buildings.

The AIA Scholastic Awards recognize outstanding graduating students from local architecture programs. This year’s recipients include:

Ying Wong (The Chinese University of Hong Kong)

Valdy Indrawan (The University of Hong Kong)

Joyce Tin Yuet Wan (Hong Kong Chu Hai College)

Exhibition Details:

The awarded entries will be exhibited at The Rotunda, Exchange Square, Central, Hong Kong, from December 7 to December 20, 2024.
