About Planning Services International (Asia) Limited
Planning Services International (PSI) is an international architectural firm established in 1978. Having won the commission as the project architect and author of the winning design for The Hong Kong Sports Institute (formerly called Jubilee Sports Centre), PSI’s scope of services has since focused mainly on sports and leisure facilities. During the mid-1980s, PSI further expanded its services to interior design covering hospitality, corporate and banking facilities. Over the years, PSI’s works pervade Hong Kong, Mainland China, Middle-east and South East Asia. For the past thirty years, PSI has actively participated in Mainland China projects. Noting the Mainland’s strong economic growth in recent years, PSI established another base inShanghaiin 2003 registered under the name of PSI (China) Ltd., thus laying the foundation stone for the long term development of the PSI Group. Mr. Antonio Tam, Chairman of PSI Group, describes the relationship between Hong Kong and Mainland China as one that will develop to compare with those cities in the USA or the Euro Community, where work will no longer be confined within the city or a small region, but rather, architects and designers from various cities, provinces and other parts of the world will travel and work to activities demands, hence fostering cultural exchange. This trend will definitely have a positive influence on the mode and future development of design services in the Mainland.
