Cayenne Home collections aim to bring you globally-inspired lifestyle products that are uniquely beautiful, durable, and reflect a personal touch. All of our products are made by local artisans and communities in Indonesia, using eco-friendly sustainable production methods and materials where possible.
We hope that our versatile, streamlined creations will help you channel your own design story and lifestyle, for enjoyment that will last a lifetime.
History
Cayenne Home began as a personal quest in 2004 to find a locally produced sofa that was comfortable, stylishly simple, and good quality. When we couldn’t find simple home furnishings that met these criteria, through trial and error we created our ideal furniture using local materials and the skills of local craftsmen.
Fast forward and the collection has grown to encompass a wide range of products ranging from furniture to tableware, united however by a continued emphasis on values of stylish simplicity, quality, sustainable production and a commitment to give back to the communities that make these products.
Sustainability
We consciously choose to have Cayenne Home products made by Indonesian suppliers and artisans. In addition to championing safe and decent work conditions with fair remuneration, we also give training and teach them new handiwork skills which they can then use to earn more income. In this way our products create meaningful income streams and employment opportunities.
Where possible, we also use eco-conscious production materials and sustainably sourced materials. For example, many of our wooden products are made of recycled old Indonesian teak wood, which we source from local communities. We have moreover repurposed recycled plastics into useful objects, giving them a second life and cutting down on waste.
